Thrifty Plaid DIY Christmas Ornament Tutorial

I have pretty much been dancing around my living room and singing not-so-good-sounding Christmas songs all calendar week! I've had my fabulously festive Spotify playlist cranked up loud and accept managed to scatter Christmas decor all over the house at this betoken.

While nigh of the house is notwithstanding in disarray, I have finished my absolute favorite vacation decorating project: the tree! I shared all about turning my scraggly Charlie Brownish Christmas tree into a stylish dazzler in yesterday's weblog post.

And I'm back today for a quick rundown of how I made my plaid DIY Christmas ornaments. Aren't they pretty?

These DIY Christmas ornaments don't experience like they need a full blog postal service because they are so simple to brand, but I wanted to testify you only how like shooting fish in a barrel (and inexpensive!) they are.

Supply List:

• Old Round Ornaments
• Textile Of Whatsoever Kind
• Mucilage Gun (this is my favorite)
• Scissors

Encounter? Any projection with that few supplies has to be piece of cake! I found a bunch of this red plaid sparse fleece at the austerity store, and the black and white cheque is actually cut from a button down blouse from the austerity store.

Sensing a theme here? I love the thrift shop, especially for holiday decor! (See my vacation decor thrifting tips here.) The ornaments take also been nerveless from thrift stores over the last couple years, but you can as well notice cheap boxes of ornaments at the dollar store.

Y'all'll want to cut your fabric into sparse strips. Mine were near a half inch wide, but you don't have to be exact. Merely cut out strips that are fairly straight, no ruler required. I prefer to eyeball things, which makes this my kind of craft ;).

Add a small dot of hot mucilage on the decoration, anywhere y'all want is fine. Stick the terminate of your fabric strip onto the mucilage and starting time wrapping the cloth around the ornament. Yous'll need to wrap information technology at varying angles in gild to cover the entire ornament.

I added another dot of mucilage every couple wraps to proceed the fabric secure. One time the whole affair is covered in textile, cut off the excess material strip and glue downward the cease.

If your fabric strip is too short to cover the whole ornament, that's non a problem. Merely glue downwardly the end and showtime a new fabric strip. Like shooting fish in a barrel peesy.
